THE INEVITABILITY OF TRUTH

The Inevitability of Truth features a new series of square paintings that engage the interplay of complementary color juxtapositions elevating the perceptual experience of light and spatial flux and inaugurates the Square Diamond Series to the artist’s oeuvre. Created on the centennial anniversary of Kazimir Malevich’s invention of Suprematism, Ruth Pastine’s new sequence of paintings pays homage to the profound simplicity of Suprematism, geometric abstraction, and Minimalism all noted influences on Pastine.

The Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego – MCASD, La Jolla acquired Inevitability of Truth 16-S6060 Square Diamond, 2015 for their permanent collection, and CIM Group Headquarters acquired Inevitability of Truth Square Diamond Triptych, 2015 for their corporate collection where it remains on view. The exhibition is accompanied by a full-color catalog with an essay by Sarah P. Hanson and was reviewed by David Pagel in the Los Angeles Times, Sarah P. Hanson in 1stdibs, and Rachel Will in Artsy, among others.
