The Inevitability of Truth Installation, 2015 by Ruth Pastine was acquired by CIM Group Headquarters in Los Angeles for their permanent collection and features three of the artist’s paintings from her Square Diamond Series. The luminous color-field paintings engage soft edge banding between the seamless gradients of saturated color, defining the central diamond form which appears to hover and pulse from the canvas surface. The series is defined by high-key color juxtapositions, heightening the ethereality of emergent light and spatial flux. The Square Diamond paintings were first shown in Pastine’s exhibition The Inevitability of Truth which inaugurated Edward Cella Art & Architecture’s new gallery space in Los Angeles in September 2015, and were installed at CIM Group Headquarters in Los Angeles in December 2015 where they remain on view.
