Ruth Pastine acquisition featured in Collection: New Acquisitions from the Permanent Collection at MOAH
MOAH Museum of Art and History is pleased to present the debut exhibition Ruth Pastine: Attraction 1993 – 2013, the artist’s first museum survey exhibition featuring a curated selection of Pastine’s paintings and pastel works on paper from numerous series spanning the past two decades, that will be on view from January 18 through March 16, 2014. The exhibition is organized thematically, featuring pivotal works that highlight Pastine’s interests and focus in working serially over the course of her career. Pastine’s minimalist color field works reveal her ongoing investigation into the phenomena of color perception and the relativity of color. The exhibition is accompanied by an 84-page color catalog with an introduction by MOAH Curator Andi Campognone, an appreciation by De Wain Valentine, and inaugural essays by Donald Kuspit and Peter Frank.
